SharedFaith Africa has one goal: amplify stories of Interfaith unity across the African continent.

Why? We think that real voices and true experiences are the best tools to combat division and indifference.

Our mission is to share true stories of Jews, Christians, and Muslims working together for peace and community. By doing this, the world can be reminded that, even in times of conflict, cooperation is possible.

By sharing individual stories, individuals can see each other as human, indifference can be fought, understanding between groups can be strengthened, and a culture of dialogue and respect can be fostered.

What Else Do We Offer?

Alongside our growing repertoire of interfaith stories, we create trilingual toolkits that can be used in schools and communities across the Africa. Education for young students is essential in the fight for unity, and the toolkits we created gives students a more "hands on" approach to learning lessons of interfaith unity. Through this, students can learn practical skills that can be taken with them throughout their everyday life. View our toolkits on the "School Toolkits" page.

The Founder: Brayden Magids

My name is Brayden Magids, and I am a high school student in North Carolina, United States. I am Jewish, and the descendant of Holocaust survivors. Throughout my life, I have heard first hand the indifference Jews experienced amidst the Holocaust, and I carried that lesson throughout my life, determined to confront indifference toward the Jewish people, my community.

However, after an interaction with a peer in Africa, I saw that indifference wasn't just affecting my community, but was also widespread across Africa. He told me how his country, his continent, felt abandoned, like the world didn't care. This sentiment was shockingly familiar, and I learned that indifference wasn't a fight my family fought 80 years ago, and it wasn't unique to my Jewish community.

From then on, I've carried the lessons I'd learned from my family and combined it with my newfound understanding of indifference in a different context. I am doing everything I can to amplify the voices of Africans, within their countries, the continent, and on the world stage. Through this, I feel as though I am not only honoring my family's legacy, but continuing their fight against indifference in the place it matters most today.
